Sheffield falls to Kane

KANE, Pa. – Sheffield made the short trip to Kane on Tuesday, falling 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-10) to a talented Lady Wolves squad.

“I have to tell you, it’s hard on these girls playing AAA Bradford, AAA St. Marys and AA Kane right in a row twice every year,” said Sheffield coach Melissa Lemay about her team’s difficult schedule. “They are so deep on their bench, they can move anyone on to the court, and that person can be just as effective as the girl that came out.”

Leading Sheffield were Emily Leichtenberger (6 kills), Annabel Sheldon (5 digs) and Megan Johnson (11 assists).

“We struggled at the net, having only three blocks and just 11 kills on the night,” noted Lemay. “The girls serve-received well tonight, but we just couldn’t get many attacks in system.”

The JV team fell 12-25, 20-25.
