Sheffield drops road contest at Port Allegany

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Port Allegany scored 30 points in the second quarter en route to picking up its first win of the season, 30-12 over visiting Sheffield on Saturday.

The Wolverines, who fall to 0-7 on the season, did have some big plays, however.

Caden Smead caught a 61-yard touchdown from Steve Lojewski, who put the ball in the air 35 times, completing 10 for 169 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.

Smead had three receptions for 113 yards.

For Port Allegany, Trey Ayers threw a pair of touchdowns to Issac Smoker, while running back Josh Rees carried the ball for 155 yards and a touchdown.

Eli Petruzzi also ran back an interception for a score.

Sheffield has two games remaining on its schedule – at Elk County Catholic this Friday, followed by a home game on Oct. 20 against Otto-Eldred.
