ST. MARYS, Pa. – Talk about coming out with a bang.

Elk County Catholic found paydirt six times in the first quarter, building a 40-0 lead en route to a 46-6 win over Sheffield on Friday night.

Crusader junior running back Stephen Bobby scores three of those touchdowns, racking up 87 yards in little more than a quarter of work.

A total of 13 Elk County Catholic ballcarriers combined for 39 carries and 325 yards on the ground.

Held without a first down in the first quarter, Sheffield picked up their first first down in the second when Steve Lojewski connected with Isaac Filegar for a 65 yard catch-and-run to the Crusader five yard line. The ECC defense held though to force a turnover.

Sheffield got on the board early in the third quarter when Christian Richetti broke free for an 85-yard touchdown run.

But that 85 yards would amount to about half of the Wolverines total yardage.

ECC moves to 6-2 with the victory while the Wolverines remain winless on the year at 0-8.

Sheffield host Otto-Eldred next Saturday.
