ERIE, Pa. – Six Dragon girl’s tennis players competed Thursday at the District 10 Doubles Playoffs at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie.

Maddie Rodgers and Ceci Citro won their opening round match against Erie High’s team of Dougherty and Askins, 8-4. They next faced the No. 1 seed and eventual champion team of Bender and McGonicle of Hickory, falling 8-0.

“Maddie and Ceci had two really good matches today,” said head coach Jon Meyer. “They were dominant in their opening match, and played well against a very talented team from Hickory. It was a good way to end the season for them.”

Gracie Wood and Alanna Hultberg faced and tough team from McDowell in the opening round, falling 8-3. Taylor Lester and Emily Grimm drew the No. 3 seed, also from McDowell, falling by a score of 8-2.

“I’m very pleased with how the girl’s played today,” said Meyer. All 6 girls finished the season strong. You can’t ask for more than that.”
