Dragons lead impressive Warren County performance at Sharpsville

Warren’s 11 medalists at the Sharpsville Blue Devil Invitational show off their hardware on Saturday.

SHARON, Pa. – Naomi Hahn’s second place finish led a group of 11 Warren medalists at the prestigious Sharspville Blue Devil Invitational on Saturday at Buhl Park.

Warren, Eisenhower and Youngsville all competed in the field that featured 42 boys varsity teams and 37 girls varsity teams, with a number of impressive performances.

Hahn’s time of 19:09.22 trailed only Annie Wicker of Quaker Valley out of the WPIAL, who edged her by just over two seconds (19:07.14.)

Bri Ristau and Naomi Hahn finished 26th and 27th as the girls raced to an 11th place team finish.

For the Warren boys Nate Eadie, Trenten Dippold and Graham Carr led an impressive effort, with Eadie’s 22nd place finish tops on the team. They finished 9th in the team standings, as New Castle took home the team title.

“We had a really good day today,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “Almost everyone had a huge personal record. We had 11 individual medalists and all teams finished pretty high for this level of competition. This meet really judges where you’re at and I’m excited about where these teams are right now. I’m so proud of this group, they are doing something special as far as Warren cross country is concerned. We are on track for big things and need to continue with our training plan to get everyone performing their best.

“To put this meet into perspective, it’s one of the most competitive meets you can go to in Pennsylvania and for us to come away with 11 medals shows what this group is doing and how hard they are working.”

Eisenhower also had a number of impressive effort.

Ethan Kellogg and Tyson Morrison once again paced the charge, with Kellogg finishing 63rd and Morrison 87th, as the Knights raced to a 28th place team finish.

For the girls, Sydeny Welker and Chloe Lesecki finished 159th and 164th respectively.

“Saturday was a good day to run,” said Eisenhower coach Darlene Beach. “Many of our athletes had personal best or season best times.”

The Knights also finished seventh as a team in the JV boys event.

For Youngsville, Mik Fehlman led the boys with a 140th place finish and Julia Bojaczko was 198th to pace the girls.
