Dragons sharp in scrimmage at Punxsy

Warren looked sharp in its scrimmage at Punxsutawney on Saturday.

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Warren was impressive on both sides of the ball in their scrimmage at Punxsutawney on Saturday.

The Dragons scored three times – the first score was the last play of the series called back by a penalty, but the next two scores were counted.

The JV’s scored twice as well.

The Warren defense kept Punxsutawney out of the end zone which was an encouraging sign. Forty-six players out of the 52 on the roster saw action on Saturday.

Former Warren head coach Brad Wright is the head man at Punxsy.

“All in all a pretty good day for us, a lot of positives, a lot of promise. But we still have areas that we need to work on and improve upon,” said Warren coach Mark Morelli. “Football coaches are generally never satisfied, we have to play better this Friday. Fairview is coming to town on Friday and they will not be an easy game. They bring a returning 1,000 yard rusher and a lighting-quick quarterback”
