Post 135 nabs two more Senior Legion wins

Post 135 picked up a pair of Senior Legion wins Sunday and Monday as they look to wrap-up their season.

Post defeated CorryNorthwest Savings Bank, 6-4 at Legion Field Sunday in a five inning makeup game, then came back and knocked off Youngsville Post 658, 14-0 in five innings.

The game with Youngsville was moved from Legion Field to Davis Street Field to allow the Post 135 Junior Legion team to host the first round of their district tournament.

Multiple players recorded hits in the game against Corry, but Adam Irwin’s 2-run triple in the third helped Post secure the win. Irwin was 2-2 in the game.

Brady Blair picked up the complete game victory.

Adam Munksgard nearly pitched a no-hitter in the win over Youngsville. He allowed just one hit, a single in the fifth and struck out nine in five shutout innings.

Post came out firing offensively, scoring at least once in every inning. Derek Knapp had a pair of doubles and a triple, Owen Balas and Ryan Arnold also tripled. Colby Johnson, Lance Baldensperger, Adam Irwin and Chris White all doubled and, with Nate Betts, all had multiple hits.

Post 135 closes its season today with a trip to Union City, the league tournament gets underway Thursday.
