Eisenhower girls race past Seneca

Aleea Giese was one of several Eisenhower Lady Knights that had a tremendous meet in a 92-58 win over Seneca.

WATTSBURG – The Eisenhower girls track and field team wrapped up its regular season in fine style Wednesday with a 92-58 win over Seneca.

TerryLee Talasky, Delaney Nizzi, Aleea Giese, Cameran Edwards, Breanna Vanderhoof, Alexi Milburn, Lydia Giannini and Currie Hultman led an impressive day for the Lady Knights.

Talasky and Nizzi each won four events, with Talasky winning the 100, 200 and 400, capping off a season in which she took first in all three events in every dual meet. Nizzi, meanwhile, swept the hurdle races and won the long jump and both she and Talasky teamed with Giese and Patricia Bortz to claim the 1600 relay.

Edwards won the triple jump and was on the winning 400 relay team with her sister Catrina, as well as Bortz and Emiley Wheeler.

Vanderhoof, Milburn, Giannini and Hultman led EHS in the field events, winning the shot put, high jump, discus and javelin respectively.

The boys, meanwhile, were on the short end of a 117-32 score.

Eric Corse won the shot put and the 400 relay team of Nate Holt, Riley West, Caleb Robinault and Spencer Head also took first.

“We had kids step up and they ran well,” said assistant coach Ryan Hoffman. “We have lots of kids healing up for for districts.”

That includes standouts Jonah Samuelson and Kelly Glotz, who didn’t run against the Bobcats.

The District 10 championships are slated for Saturday at Slippery Rock University.
