‘Indian Winter’ forces another round of postponements for Warren County sports teams

Fields across Warren County stayed empty Thursday as a fresh wave of rain and snow pushed across the region, forcing another round of postponements and cancellations during a spring sports season already well behind schedule due to the “Indian Winter.”

With chilly temperatures and snowy weather hanging on longer than usual this year, the “Indian Winter” affecting much of the northeast is wreaking havoc on high school sports schedules.

The fresh wave of rain and snow that rolled through the area Thursday forced another round of postponements across Warren County.

For now, the forecast is calling for slightly warmer temperatures and little chance of precipitation for the next two days. With that in mind, here is a tentative schedule of events through the weekend. When scheduling make up games, region contests will take priority over non-region events.

Softball (all games at 4 p.m.): Eisenhower at Youngsville, Youngsville High School; Warren at Oil City

Tennis: Titusville at Warren, 1:30 p.m. at Betts Park, Warren at Elk County Catholic, 4:30 p.m.
