Dragons, Knights grid schedules released

Football schedules were released on Wednesday for District 10 schools, with some interesting matchups for both Warren and Eisenhower.

The Dragons, coming off a 2-8 campaign, will compete in Region 7 with Fort LeBoeuf, General McLane, Oil City Meadville, Franklin and DuBois.

They will host the Bison, Oilers and Knights and have road dates against the Lancers, Bulldogs and Beavers.

In non-region play, the Dragons have an interesting slate, starting with a home game against Fairview in Week 1 on Aug. 24. The Dragons played a thriller at Fairview last season, scoring with 45 seconds left to go up 33-26, only to watch Fairview drive down the field and score and convert the 2-point conversion inside of 10 seconds, losing a 34-33 heartbreaker.

They also will host North East in Week 4 and Corry in Week 8 and a tentative home date with St. Marys in Week 10.

Eisenhower, meanwhile, will once again feature a southern flavor as part of their non-region schedule.

The Knights, who went 4-6 last season, open their slate at West Middlesex and also host Mercer in Week 3 and Reynolds in Week 7. They also take a trip to Northwestern in Week 4.

They will be a part of the new Region 2 with Union City, Cochranton, Cambridge Springs, Saegertown and Maplewood.

Ike will host Union City in Week 2, travel to Saegertown in Week 4, host Cambridge Springs in Week 6, and travel to Maplewood and Cochranton in Weeks 8 and 9.
