Tidioute boys top VisionQuest

Playing for the first time in 19 days, Tidioute outscored VisionQuest 25-9 in the second half en route to a 49-38 victory.

Jared Veasey led the way for the winners, scoring 17 points and pulling down nine rebounds.

“We haven’t played in 19 days, so we knew coming out we might be a little sluggish,” said Tidioute coach Terry Cotterman.

Despite that, the Bulldogs jumped out to an early 8-0 lead before VQ came storming back to take a 29-24 halftime lead.

The second half was all Bulldogs, however, as Julian Gillenwater had 11 points and Patrick Shields nine points and 13 rebounds.

“The second half we did an excellent job,” Cotterman said. “We ran the offense really well, got the ball into Veasey, and he was able to kick it outside to our shooters. Gillenwater had a strong game and Williams and Shields played good, solid basketball.”

Tidioute will look to keep on the winning track when they travel to Venango Catholic today.
