Tidioute bests Venango Catholic

Jared Veasey scored 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds as Tidioute put together a complete performance in a 64-42 win over Venango Catholic on Monday.

“This is probably the best one we’ve had all year,” said Tidioute coach Terry Cotterman of his team’s effort.

The Bulldogs led by 12 at halftime and outscored VC 23-12 in the fourth quarter.

Offensively, TCCS executed its offense just the way they wanted to.

Julian Gillenwater had 14 points and Patrick Shields 11.

“We were patient with the ball on offense,” Cotterman said. “They ran the offense well. We tried to get the ball to Jared early on and he was scoring, and then he would dish it back out. Shields had three 3s in the second quarter. At halftime we talked about coming out and playing a solid second half and we did. We also got good playing time out of Deloe.”

Deloe had eight rebounds, while Shields had six rebounds and two blocks.

The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday at Union City.
