Warren County Christian School's Josh Jones played a strong defensive game for the Lions.

MEADVILLE – Trailing by 12 going into the fourth quarter, the Warren County Christian School boys basketball team simply ran out of time.

The Lions got within two, but couldn’t get the equalizer as time ran out in a 47-45 setback to Meadville’s Calvary Baptist on Thursday.

Jared Younger had another big game, scoring 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting (5-of-10 each on 2’s and 3’s), along with five rebounds, two assists and a block.

“Outstanding offensive and defensive game by Jared Younger,” said WCCS coach Tom Jones. “We had a great defensive game by Josh Jones and Steven Brenner also played an outstanding game on both defense and rebounding. Those three played exceptional.”

Ethan Kerr also had nine points for the Lions.

“We got behind early and just kept fighting,” Jones said. “We went to a full-court press in the fourth quarter, created some turnovers and just kept chipping away. This was by far the best team we’ve played and by far it was our best effort.”

The Lions have a busy week ahead next week with four games.
