Payton Mineweaser (33) and Eisenhower earned a 50-33 win over Union City on Thursday.

Eisenhower picked up their second win in as many nights on Thursday, knocking off Region 3 foe Union City 50-33.

The Lady Knights dominated the first and third quarters of the game, outscoring Union City 25-7 over those two periods.

“The first quarter started out a little slow, but then we started to pull away a little bit,” said Ike coach Mike Logue, whose team improves to 6-10 overall and 3-6 in Region 3. “We could have built our lead a little more in the second quarter, but we missed six free throws. In the second half we played better team basketball which allowed us to run all 15 girls in the fourth quarter.”

Lydia Giannini had a big game for Eisenhower, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for a double-double. Emiley Wheeler added 13 points of her own, Payton Mineweaser dished out five assists and Savannah McKown had three steals.

Eisenhower will play again Monday at Iroquois.
