Eagles drop close one to Union City

Timber Bower scored eight points for Youngsville in their 43-35 setback to Union City on Wednesday.

Union City outscored Youngsville 22-12 in the second half to earn a 43-35 comeback win over the host Eagles on Wednesday.

Timber Bower knocked down a pair of early 3s to stake the Eagles (2-12 overall, 0-7 Region 3) to a 15-8 lead after the first quarter.

Dean Procter connected on a long distance shot of his own in the second as Youngsville went into the half up 23-21.

Andrew Hoban hit a pair of key second half triples in the Bears’ (7-7, 4-4) comeback, while Bronnan Higley scored a game-high 14 points for the winners.

Gage Hendrickson led Youngsville with 11 points.

The Eagles return to action on Friday, hosting Region 3 leader Cambridge Springs.
