Sheffield drops heartbreaker to Cameron County
Cale Albaugh threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns against Cameron County.
EMPORIUM – Monster games from Cale Albaugh and Josh Agudio had Sheffield on the verge of its first win of the season on Friday night at Cameron County.
It wasn’t meant to be, however.
Adam Streich’s touchdown run with 4:29 to play followed by Derek Beldin’s two-point conversion run gave Cameron County its first win of the season instead, 30-29.
They overcame the duo of Albaugh and Agudio, who combined on three touchdowns passes of 46, 45 and 24 yards in the first to stake Sheffield to a 29-22 halftime lead.
Albaugh threw for 280 yards and four total touchdowns, with the other a 29-yarder to Ryan Weaver. Agudio’s four receptions went for 126 yards.
They were shut down in the second half, however, by a Cameron County defense that stiffened up.
The Wolverines will close out the season on Saturday, hosting county rival Eisenhower.
