Warren JV football tops Franklin

The Warren JV football team picked up a 22-16 victory over Franklin on Monday night at Mike Shine Field in Youngsville.

Leading the way for the Dragons was Micah Passmore, who was 10-14 passing for 294 yards and three touchdowns. Passmore added 67 rushing yards on 10 carries to finish with 361 total yards.

Passmore hit James Swanson for a 68-yard scoring strike in the first quarter to give the Dragons a 6-0 lead. Franklin scored on a four yard touchdown run in the second quarter to make the score 8-6 Knights at halftime.

After Franklin scored again to make the score 16-6, Passmore found Ethan Wilson open deep for an 80-yard touchdown. Passmore then converted on a draw play on the two point conversion to make the score 16-14. After a quick Franklin turnover, Passmore found Swanson again for a 16-yard touchdown pass to make the score 20-16. Passmore followed with another run to make the score 22-16.

Swanson totaled 179 yards on 8 catches on the night, while Wilson had two catches for 115 yards and also had a long touchdown called back due to penalty. Hayden Morse had 43 rushing yards for the Dragons and Jamo Douvlos added 26.

Warren was led defensively by Wilson, who had two interceptions, and Jacob Colander, who forced two fumbles, recovered a fumble, and had two sacks. Brent Young added a fumble recovery and Douvlos led the team in tackles.
