Eisenhower's Drake Gens.

The Eisenhower boys are going to be road warriors for the first round of the District 10 Class 2A playoffs. The Knights will travel to Mercer to take on the Mustangs for a 1 p.m. start.

Mercer enters the playoffs with a record of 7-11 and the Knights at 6-12. The Mustangs, however, play in Region 2 with 3A programs like Franklin and Titusville.

For the Knights, Jake Harvey has turned in a stellar season both at the plate and on the mound, while the Knights are also led by fellow seniors Adam Pascuzzi, Chase Elmquist, Jeremy Carlson, Justin Perrin and Spencer Gray.

For Mercer, they are led by Brian Shevitz, who comes in with a .328 batting average and 9 RBIs, while Adam Walker checks in with 12 RBIs.

Shevitz is also their top pitcher, boasting a 1.68 in 33 1/3 innings pitched.

Eisenhower dropped three straight to end the regular season, but before that blitzed Region 3 frontrunner Maplewood, 11-0.

Mercer was 2-2 in its final four games, including wins over Sharpsville and Central Tech.
