Ike boys fall to region champ Seneca
Eisenhower used its final meet of the season as a tune-up for Saturday’s District 10 championships.
Willy Hoffman had a personal best in the pole vault of 12-feet to win the high jump as the Knights fell to Region 4 champion Seneca 109-41.
“Like I told the kids, use it as practice to get ready for Saturday” said Eisenhower coach Ryan Hoffman. “Garrett Head ran a real good 800, he’s one of the better 800 runners we’ve had in quite a few years. We had some younger guys steppe up – Riley West, Jared Martone and some other guys.”
Jonah Samuelson had a strong day for the Knights, sweeping the 110 and 300 hurdles and teaming with Troy Myer, Carter Knapp and Kelly Glotz to win the 4×100 relay.
“We knew Seneca was going to be pretty tough – they’re the region champs,” noted Hoffman.
The District 10 championships will kick off from the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
