WCCS girls top Erie First

Behind 14 points from Emma Marino and 10 points and 12 rebounds from Desirae Kerr, Warren County Christian School earned a 30-17 win over Erie First Christian on Monday.

The Lions jumped out to a 17-9 lead at halftime and never allowed more than six points in any quarter.

“We were able to grind it out,” said WCCS coach Robert Marrone. “They had 30 turnovers and we had 16. We were also able to out-rebound them. We were able to press and force them into making bad decisions.”

Marrone acknowledged that it wasn’t his team’s best shooting night, but did note a couple of key early 3’s by Marino to set the tempo for the game.

The Lady Lions return to action in the New Penn Christian Conference Tournament next Friday at Erie First.
