Sheffield grabs win over Austin
AUSTIN — Sheffield improved to 2-1 on the year with a 65-41 non-league win over Austin on Friday night.
Drew Higby led the Wolverines in the win with 13 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.
“I thought we played well,” said Sheffield coach Mike Knapp. “This was a game where we felt like we could have some success. We had five guys in double figures — the ball movement was good, we shared the ball well — overall I thought we did a good job.”
Following up Higby was Roger Dunham and Austin Simmer with 12 points each while Cale Albaugh and Matt Dunham both finished with 10. Simmer also had eight rebounds for the Wolverines, who host Forest Area on Monday.
In JV action, Luke Davidson scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Sheffield past Austin, 37-36.
