Lions top CCSI, improve to 2-0
Josiah Poindexter scored a game-high 13 points to lead Warren County Christian School past CCSI 39-29 on Tuesday. The win moved the Lions to 2-0 on the young season.
WCCS raced out to a 13-4 after the first quarter and never trailed after that.
“We came out strong and had a really good defensive effort as a team,” said WCCS coach Tom Jones. “We did have some lapses with too many turnovers, which we need to clean up, but did a good job on defense and rebounding as a team. A lot of hustle – we got to all the loose balls.”
Tommy Jones added seven points for the Lions, who return to action Friday at the Forest Tip-Off Tournament.
The junior high team was also a winner, 21-18, with Josiah Hepler playing a strong game in the win.
