Lady Lions open season with road win

Warren County Christian School opened up its season on the road with a 30-19 win over the Crawford County School Initiative on Tuesday.

Emma Marino had a big game for the Lady Lions, pouring in a game-high 16 points.

“We had a great defensive effort,” said WCCS coach Robert Marrone. “We need to have less turnovers. It’s always hard for a first game to be away – we had some pre-game jitters.”

Rachel Brenner had six points for the winners, while Desirae Kerr and McKenna Phelps added four each.

Rachel Steiger led CCSI with 10 points.

The Lady Lions return to action on Friday against Tidioute Community Charter School in the first round of the Forest Area Tip-Off Tournament.
