Lady Knights, Eagles drop tournament contests

KANE – Eisenhower got a tough draw in the opening round of the Kane Holiday Tournament, falling 48-25 to the host Lady Wolves on Tuesday

Eisenhower hung with Kane for a quarter, but a big second period from the Lady Wolves allowed them to take control of the game.

“We played a very good first quarter,’ said Ike coach Mike Logue. “In the second we got a little tired, we allowed (Trinity) Clark to score nine in the quarter including a big three. We let the game slip away from us – we played a nice, even third quarter but we ran out of gas again in the fourth.”

Kristen Baran led Ike with seven points and Delaney Nizzi added five.

Kane got 15 points each from Ella Marconi and Rachael Morgan.

Eisenhower will return to action on Wednesday, facing Clarion in the consolation round of the tournament,

Kane was also victorious in the JV game, winning 18-15. Haley Spicer led Ike with six points.
