WCCS girls top Tidioute Charter

Rachel Brenner and Emma Marino each scored 14 points to help lead the Warren County Christian School girls past Tidioute Charter on Tuesday, 38-27.

Desirae Kerr added eight points, four rebounds, three assists and three blocks in a strong overall game. Brenner also had eight rebounds and two blocks while Marino chipped in six rebounds, three assists, and one block.

“It was another tough game just like the first two,” said WCCS coach Eric Swartzbaugh. “TCCS always hustles, especially after loose balls and rebounds. Because of that you can never take them lightly.”

The Lady Lions also had strong contributions from Naomi Swartzbaugh (two points, three rebounds, one assist), Lydia Swartzbaugh (four rebounds, two assists), and Rebekah Erdman (three rebounds, one assist).

“The most notable performance was Rachel Brenner,” Swartzbaugh said. “It doesn’t show up in the stats, but her biggest contribution was playing her best defensive game of the season. Her defense stopped plays and caused turnovers. Her rebounding was also big in helping us control the ball and enabling her to score as well.
