Champions

The Kinzua Soccer Club’s 5th-6th-grade indoor soccer team defeated Southwestern, 12-6, recently in the championship game of the Lakewood Family YMCA. After falling behind 2-0 in the first five minutes, Kinzua scored the next five goals en route to the title. John Page and Riley Childress scored three goals each for Kinzua, Wesley Kiehl and Kyra Wotorson added two goals each, and Darren Glotz and Luke Smelko one each. Ian Darling and Ben Berdine were solid in the net. Zane Anderson and Kyleigh Wilson played strong defense to limit Southwestern’s chances. Not only did the team dominate on the field, but each member made merit honor roll for the recent marking period, according to coach Shannon Yeager.
