Youth soccer

The Kinzua 5th/6th grade in door soccer team defeated the Hot Tamales, 7-5. The victory keeps Kinzua in first place in the Lakewood 5th/6th grade indoor division at the Lakewood Family YMCA.

Leading the way offensively for Kinzua was Luke Smelko, John Page and Rylie Yeager, who each scored two goals. Kyleigh Wilson added one goal.

Wilson, Ben Berdine, and Zane Anderson were standouts on defense. Ian Darling made several great saves in the second half to help secure the victory.

Eisenhower’s sixth-grade boys basketball team played Southwestern (N.Y.) on Saturday in the Jamestown YMCA league, winning 25-22 by scoring six points in the final 45 seconds. Zach Rohlin and Caleb Robinault lead the Knights in scoring with six points each.

Warren football

The Warren Area High School football team will hold its mandatory weight lifting program beginning Monday, Jan. 5, at the WAHS weight room. All football players are expected to attend. The schedule will run as follows: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday – Weight lifting from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and conditioning and skills from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
