Now that the great Sunday hunting debate appears to have been solved, some state lawmakers are ready to begin a new debate over the use of semiautomatic weapons to hunt big game in Pennsylvania. The state has long had a prohibition on the use of semi-automatic weapons for big game, with a similar ban for small game lifted less than a decade ago. Some state lawmakers seem to think they have come up with a way to modernize how local governing bodies get the word out about their meetings, pending actions, tax increases, new ordinances and other measures. Last week, a significant day noted something that needs to be considered by residents throughout the year. In a ceremony on Friday, Pennsylvania Departments of Health and Transportation joined health care leaders, organ donation organizations, and families impacted by organ donation at UPMC West Shore to celebrate PA Donor Day and encourage more Pennsylvanians to register as organ donors. We have no clue whether President Donald Trump’s National Garden of American Heroes will ever become reality. The idea has already gone from fast track to derailed once this decade While the House of Representatives has approved $40 million for the project, the Senate has not approved the funding to build 250 life-size statues in a yet-to-be-decided locale. Our opinion: Investment is a positive for county

We all want to see huge employers come to Warren County with hundreds of jobs that bring good wages and tax base with them. But economic development and growth doesn’t always happen with Fortune 500 companies. New jobs often come in the form of small mom and pop shops that provide services we didn’t know we needed.
