As the state and nation gears for the midterm elections, there's one location where divisiveness between parties is not evident. That is right here in Pennsylvania.
U.S. Sens. John Fetterman and Dave McCormick "have forged a rare bipartisan partnership," Spotlight Pa. reported earlier this year. The Republican and Democrat from a politically important state represent one of only three split states by party in the Senate. They have sponsored bills and booked joint media appearances in recent months.
"We're very, very good friends, and we get along, and we always try to find ways to work together," Fetterman told NOTUS. "Pennsylvania deserves that. And you know, we both realize that we don't just represent our respective base. We represent all 13 million Pennsylvanians, and that's why we find ways to work together."
As for who's more likely to make an appearance in the county, McCormick made a stop here shortly before the Fourth of July. Fetterman joined McCormick in Erie for a discussion on the city's housing stock, homelessness and food insecurity. All those issues are just as important here at home.
Regarding our poll question for last week, "Are you pleased with the work being done by U.S. Sens. Dave McCormick and John Fetterman?" responders were not as giddy with 45% saying yes and 55% voting no.
