According to the most recent Pennsylvania Fall Foliage report, Warren County's leaves are about to be at approaching peak colors. In its weekly report, the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources says "mid-summer and September rainfall quenched drought-stressed forests across the Commonwealth, greening tree canopies that are now primed for a fantastic autumn show. Bright fall color is developing nicely, especially across the northern tier counties and along the Laurel Summit on the Allegheny Plateau.
"Expected cold nights in the forecast this week will continue to advance the color transition across the state. The best colors are still to come!"
Those who took time to respond to the weekly poll, at www.timesobserver.com, favored this time of year the most. Survey results to "What is your favorite season?" found 47% voting for fall; 31% saying summer; 16% for spring and 6% for winter.
Most of us here would agree. Changing seasons are a treasure, except when winter enters into early April.
This week's poll question: Do you think Pennsylvania should have an early voting option at polling locations?
