Our opinion: Fair ‘reunion’ is back on track

Similar to the Fourth of July happening and the annual Christmas parade, the Warren County Fair has a way of bringing many together. This year’s edition opened on Sunday and continues throughout the week.

“Annually tens-of-thousands of people come to enjoy all the fair has to offer,” Fair board President Dale Bliss said. “Folks look forward to a week of family and fun. It’s more or less a reunion for everyone in Warren County. Everyone comes home for it.”

As usual, numerous events fill the slate.

Some of the most popular include those with the most tradition.

Motorized pull events start Wednesday with the antique tractor pull at 6:30 p.m. Thursday features the stock tractor dead boat pull event at 6 p.m.

On Friday, the modified truck and tractor pull will be featured at 8 p.m.

Friday will also feature horse pull events with the farm team horse pull at 9:45 p.m., lightweight horse pull at 1 p.m. and the heavyweight horse pull capping things off at 6 p.m.

A pedal power pull will also be held Saturday at 1 p.m.

The stock car football and demolition derby event will kick-off at 7 p.m. Saturday.

“We’re happy to present the 92nd Warren County Fair,” Bliss said. “It’s Warren County’s premier event.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
