Our opinion: Take time to decide Election Day

In-person voting for the general election is underway by mail, with in-person voting to be conducted tomorrow, Nov. 8.

Hopefully, your name is on the rolls and you will take part in the 2022 general election.

There are many important matters on the ballot this year, from races to decide which party will control Congress to deciding top elected official in the commonwealth. Your vote is important in deciding those races, particularly considering the close nature of the U.S. Senate race between Democrat John Fetterman and Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz and the gubernatorial race between Republican Doug Mastriano and Democrat Josh Shapiro. It is our civic duty to vote, and there are many options to ensure everyone can cast a ballot. The state made it easier than ever to vote via absentee ballot. But now, there is only one option left to make your voice heard — and that’s going to your polling site and casting a ballot tomorrow.

If you are reading this, you understand the importance of this and every election. Perhaps you have voted already. But what about others you know, perhaps even in your own family or circle of friends? Are they as engaged as you are? Let’s get out and vote this year.

Starting at $3.50/week.
