Our opinion: Libraries vital resources to communities

Book lovers can rejoice knowing that February was National Library Lovers Month.

And there is perhaps no more underutilized resource in our counties than our public libraries.

While some people probably have the image of the library as a stodgy, uptight place where people go to sit in complete silence all day, that is far from reality.

The library, especially those here, are vibrant entities filled with not just books, but access to the internet, movies, community programs, people and so much more.

Additionally, the libraries are staffed with wonderfully helpful staff who want to help you to the best of their abilities.

The real local library lovers already know this, but a strong library is the lifeblood of a community and we are blessed to have that.

We want to express our appreciation for our county’s libraries and hope that if you don’t already, you soon learn how to take advantage of what these wonderful community resources have to offer.

Starting at $3.50/week.
