Our opinion: Bringing new life for city building

It’s been a long time coming for the former PNC Bank building on the corner of Second Avenue and Liberty Streeet to find new life.

On Jan. 1, the first floor of the former bank building will be the new home to Innovault Cowork. The former bank office has been transformed — office space, conference spaces, a reading room in the old vault, kitchenette, sound system and internet. Access will be by tiered membership and the current target to open is Jan. 1.

The idea for the shared work space was first shared in 2016, and $90,000 in federal grant money secured by Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Bellefonte, helped spur the project along.

It’s good to see this project come to fruition. It may not be the game-changer that spurs the next big thing for employment in Warren County, but it may be the perfect place for a new generation of small businesses to get their start.

Starting at $3.50/week.
