It's good to see a rebound in tourism to Warren County as we approach the Memorial Day holiday and the unofficial start to summer.
Dave Sherman, Warren County Visitors Bureau executive director, told the Times Observer recently that requests for information from visitors has increased, as has bed tax revenues collected by the county. Not only are people wanting to visit, they want to stay for more than one day.
That's a good sign for local restaurants, whose owners will be more than happy to see the increased foot traffic from visitors who have money to spend.
Just think what the possibilities are if the Visitors Bureau is able to make better use of the internet. The bureau has a website, but Sherman is quick to admit that the county's digital marketing efforts can be improved.
It would behoove local businesses to get behind the Warren County Visitors' Bureau's efforts by linking the county's various web presences so that visitors can find what they're looking for quickly. A bigger presence for the Warren County Visitors' Bureau is good for everyone.
