Is Gov. Josh Shapiro really the best candidate to run our Commonwealth? I don’t think so!
If he is always touting affordability, then why is he the highest-paid governor, earning $253,870 per year, out of all 50 states?
Maybe he should take a pay cut or decline his salary. At that point, he would be putting his money where his mouth is! That doesn’t seem too affordable for the taxpayers to me.
Yep, that’s right. He makes more than Gov. Kathy Hochul of New York and Gov. Gavin Newsom of California. As a matter of fact, of the 10 highest-paid governors, only two are Republicans! All of them are touting affordability and trying to blame Trump. This is something you most definitely won’t see on a sign at the Saturday circus in front of the courthouse!
On top of that, he gets a taxpayer-funded vehicle to drive, a fully furnished house to live in, and utilities covered. He also gets gasoline for his free vehicle, pays very little for medical and dental care, and receives approximately $900,000 for public messaging, something he designed that was unprecedented before he took office. I’m sure it’s being utilized for its intended purpose, whatever that may be. Yeah, right! He also receives travel expenses paid by the taxpayers. As if a free car and gas weren’t enough.
He also got his wish of shutting down Pennsylvania skill games across the state, as he wants them taxed at 52%, which is absolutely absurd, especially for the nonprofit organizations that donate huge portions of that money right back into their communities. I know of one organization here in Warren that donated $170,000 back to the community in 2025.
So, all you who have Shapiro signs in your yards, keep that in mind. Don’t shift the blame to a Republican or fall back on your usual excuse and say, “It’s Trump’s fault,” when your school taxes go up. Every school sports team or school organization in Warren County that requested a donation from that veterans club received a very nice check, which was made possible by the skill games. And that doesn’t even begin to mention all the other places that received very nice donations. Again, that was just one club here in Warren. There are many others doing the same thing!
Good job, Shapiro. Way to put the kids on the back burner yet again! With Democrats in charge, communities suffer over and over, time after time.
During Shapiro’s time in office so far, he has closed two state prisons, supposedly saving $120 million annually. I wonder where all that money is, but I’m willing to bet that a local school sports team won’t see any of it!
Shapiro supports allowing second-degree murder convicts back onto Pennsylvania’s streets. He stands firm on his moratorium on the death penalty. If a person committed a crime serious enough to put them on death row and has exhausted all appeals, then why should the taxpayers of the state have to continue paying for that person until they die of natural causes?
By the way, it costs taxpayers roughly $75,000 to $90,000 per year per inmate, and there are 38,000 inmates in Pennsylvania. Under Democratic leadership, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections has become very soft. Other than not being allowed to leave, the convicts live very well and truly do have more rights than law-abiding citizens on the outside--or so it definitely seems.
In my opinion, all the soft snowflakes and people with easily offended feelings should just volunteer to go to prison. At that point, they could have everything they want and everything the Democrats push for: free universal health care, free food, housing and clothing, free education, free and equal treatment, free 24-hour security in their taxpayer-funded gated community, very few jobs, and same-sex relationships! Kinda like socialism. Notice the word “free.”
And if the Democrats had it their way, all the convicts would be allowed to vote as well. Remember when Hillary Clinton was pushing for that during her presidential campaign? At that point, they would no longer have to cheat in elections or open the borders to allow our country to be invaded by illegal aliens for illegal voting purposes!
Now, since Gov. Shapiro has proven that his current job is not for him and is most definitely not in the best interest of the citizens of Pennsylvania, why not give someone else a chance to attempt to do better for the people?
In my opinion, I do not think that Stacy Garrity is the best candidate for the job. However, based on the debate she had with Shapiro on Oct. 7, she is far better than what we have now, and she will be receiving my vote. Even if I were a Democrat (thank God I’m not), I would not vote for Shapiro because of the skill game issue alone! Many Democrats have already told me that this is the reason they are not voting for him either.
