Bilger will work for next generation
I relate to the surprisingly large number of senior protesters who held “No Kings” signs and expressed concern for their grandchildren’s future during a recent President Donald Trump visit to Florida’s The Villages, a senior retirement area. The Villages historically has been a solidly red area.
The “grandchildren,” namely the Gen X and Millennial, tend to vote for change, seeking assistance and to rid corruption. Recent polls show only 13% of them believe America is heading in the right direction. A major change would be to replace Trump’s legislative enablers and to vote U.S. Rep. Glenn “G.T.” Thompson out of office.
Facts support their thinking: delayed marriages, expensive housing, fewer children, large credit card debt, poorer and more expensive medical coverage, an ever widening wealth gap between the top few and them, an evolving economic system based on technology, exploitation of insider information and position, old men dictating legal behavior of women bodies, the mishandling of COVID, the decreasing purchasing value of the dollar due to tariffs, huge national debt, and foreign policy blunders – the last income gain over inflation was under Biden.
Democrats read the polls and are listening better to the peoples’ concerns. The Democrats don’t promise to correct all of their concerns but they will work for you. No time, effort, or tax money will be used to build ballrooms and personal monuments, getting buildings re-named, and having personal images put on buildings or on currency.
