Opposition to Iran war forgets history

Lately I have been hearing a lot about the high gas prices and the majority of the complaining is coming from the left side of the aisle. With that said, everyone should have been complaining all along ever since the President Barack Obama era when it really started to rise and no thanks to the former Gov. Tom Corbett who put the worthless gas tax on all of Pennsylvania.

I have heard people say “gas in Warren is the highest under the (President Donald) Trump administration.” “It’s because of Trump’s war.” “It’s never been over $4 a gallon in Warren.”

So here is a little history lesson for you. In March 2022 gasoline here in Warren Pa was the same exact price as it is now while I am writing this at $3.99. In June 2022 here in Warren gas was $4.99. The current national average price of gas is $3.89 at this time in 2022 the average price was $3.96.

Trump was not in office and we were not at war! Gee, thanks Joe Biden! My sources for this information were AAA and actual pictures of gas signs at Kwik Fill and Sheetz in North Warren and stories published in the Times Observer. So why are all the left complaining now and not then? Maybe the Saturday protesters could put that on their signs so at least one of them would be displaying some truth and facts!

Also heard many people say, including Hakeem Jeffries, they have no idea why we are in Iran, or what initiated our attack on them or what is our end game. Wow! First and foremost I am willing to bet the farm that the end game will be a thousand times better than Biden’s pull out from Afghanistan.

Secondly, I have two suggestions for you: Go purchase a history book and have someone read it to you! This has been going on since 1979 and finally the United States said enough is enough. The world will be much safer now as it always is when we rid the world of terrorists.

Why wouldn’t everyone want that? The Iranians have the blood on their hands of thousands and thousands of Americans and innocent people. Nobody wants war (even though the Democrats will use this in their midterm election campaigns) but sometimes war has got to be the answer.

While I was in the Marines (1993-97), I served with a then Gunnery Sgt. who was a survivor of the Beirut Bombings in 1983 at which time he was a private first class. I vividly remember him telling myself and other Marines stories about the bombings, especially when he said “The Iranian hostage crisis was the first incident, this was just the next and it won’t end until we end them.”

Those in the 1st Battalion 8th Marines 2nd Marine division were the ones who were attacked that day, their nickname to this day is “The Beirut Battalion” in honor of the dead.

He told me that in 1994 and here we are 32 years later finally doing something about it because finally we have a president with courage and a spine that cares about America and American citizens and puts them first. If a Democrat president would have dealt with Iran like Trump is currently doing, the left would have deemed that person a God! I am willing to bet this won’t make the clown town signs at the Saturday Warren protest either due to the fact that there is way too much historical facts and truth as it would interfere with their false unjustified claims and accusations agenda.

Also, I wonder what the Saturday religious protesters feel about the sign that states in very big letters “F Trump” (the full word is on the sign not just the F) and the person who holds it while standing in the road impeding traffic? I am willing to bet Jesus would not approve! It’s too bad that children have to experience the ignorance and lies being displayed there.
