U.S. shambles need fix
It’s hard to ascertain the mentality of the far left. Since 2016 the left’s vocabulary has contained words like Nazi, fascist, racist, all kinds of phobias, Hitler, garbage, deplorable, and more. When a sitting governor and former vice presidential candidate in 2024 recently made a toxic remark saying “maybe we’ll hear some good news” referring to President Donald Trump’s supposedly ill health, the listener has come to believe that the left has lost its ability to care about anyone who differs in ideologies or ideals.
The hatred for this country and its founding principles is clearly visible; the youngest generations are being plied with ridiculous notions that this country should aspire to socialism and brand anyone who voices an opinion against someone else to be shunned or even eliminated.
Charlie Kirk was a voice of reason sharing his ideas and wanting to debate anyone who differed; it wasn’t malicious, but it was thought provoking. His mantra was God, family, and country. He threatened no one, but his ideas inspired many to think for themselves and question what they believed. When free speech is dismantled by assassination, our country is showing its preference to lawlessness over decency.
After reading the book “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, one sees how a socialistic government of animals ruling together eventually turned the society into a system where some in the group finagled their way to power; the power grabbers were bent on keeping the rest of the animals contained in a posture of servitude and made them believe it was for their own good.
Betsy McCaughey, in a Sept. 11 commentary in the Times Observer, provided solid proof of the ideals now progressing in this country that socialism espouses but aren’t realistic.
When the government starts giving away more than it takes in, it falters and collapses. When incentives to work to make oneself more self-sufficient are sacrificed, people lose pride in what they can accomplish. This makes them ready for continuing indoctrination in the socialist system to which they have become bonded.
Finally, we see justice taking shape against the liars that pushed the false narrative about the Russian collusion with Trump. James Comey has been indicted in lying to Congress; Barack Obama had his hand in the dirt along with Hillary Clinton. Will the latter two ever see indictments? I doubt that, but the left should watch more of the mud they splatter around before continuing the rhetoric against the president.
The left has shown disdain for the workers of this country. Shutting down the government was against their ideals just a few months ago; now it seems anything to get their way is OK, whether anyone is hurt or not. Sen. Charles Schumer is caving to the Socialist-Dems for fear he loses his position in Congress. Actually, he should do the right thing by voting for the bill, finish his term, and leave. It’s too bad they all want power and prestige; whatever fails is ok, as long as the party gets its way. It is sad that a political party that has done some good in the past has forgotten its pledge to serve the people, preferring to serve their own interests.
A lot of the turmoil we see in the country with I.C.E. would not be happening, at least to the degree visible now had it not been Biden and his cronies. Sidestepping the law and opening the borders allowed millions to come here illegally. I.C.E. is trying to right the wrong done to the country and is considered the culprit by the left; however, once again Biden should bear the brunt of the blame for the chaos he created. The Biden years certainly did a lot to compromise us as a nation, both here and abroad.
Antisemitism hit new highs on the college campuses last year. Jewish students couldn’t feel safe with paid rioters on their backs. It’s a shame higher learning institutions that promote medical and scientific research also promote hate among students; thank the liberal professors for unleashing that barrage of thinking.
Trump’s plan to defund those institutions may bring about fairness in speech and attitudes toward students who want to learn and cannot because their beliefs are counter to the hate mongering ideologues who run the universities.
Conservative speakers are booed, if they are even allowed on campus to speak. Democracy is dead on those campuses when differing opinions are not allowed to be heard. Socialism is their word of choice, so listening to the constant barrage of the right killing democracy is getting to be so nonsensical, one who knows and understands the rhetoric of the left just lets it fall to the ground with the rest of the dirt they spew.
