General welfare having big impact on national debt

Over the past 10 months we have been treated to entertaining commentary from the Woke Mob. They are apoplectic because the source of all their virtue signaling — the bottomless pit of their government programs — has been threatened by the “fascist terror” in the White House.

Unable to present a coherent argument against the Administration’s anti-waste policies, the Woke Mob resorts to the same old saw – that “Trump has no compassion.” This begs the question: Compassion for whom?

Apparently the Woke Mob measures compassion by how hard they squeeze taxpayers and subjugate working people.

The Woke Mob has no compassion for Middle America — the people who go to work every day to make ends meet. This is made clear by their use of Critical Race Theory (nonsense) and Critical Gender Theory (more nonsense) to bludgeon common people into submission.

Woke compassion is reserved for criminals and those who contribute least to our society while demanding a free ride of entitlements. This would include bureaucrats who seem “entitled” to their paychecks even if their job produces nothing. Conversely, Trump’s compassion seems to be reserved for Middle America – working people who deserve relief from the relentless assault by the Woke Mob.

The Woke Mob’s disregard for Middle America is clear in their recent demand to give Medicaid and other “free” healthcare services to millions of illegal aliens. They conveniently ignore that illegal aliens are crowding-out American citizens already waiting in line under Obamacare (Affordable Care Act, LOL), which has increased individual medical costs by over 80% in the past 10 years. We were told Obamacare would “fix” the system through Federal regulation, yet (ironically) the Woke Mob still complains American Healthcare is “broken.” If you voted for Obama, blame only yourself.

You broke healthcare. The answer isn’t more spending or regulation – the answer is to end Federal interventions into the people’s lives.

From the General Welfare Clause, US Constitution, Article I Section 8: “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States;…”.

This clause does NOT obligate or empower Congress to invent benefits for specific classes of people paid for by the labor of other people. It merely says that congress is allowed to levy taxes to provide services that benefit everyone (everyone!!!).

One might use creation of the CDC as an example of General Welfare. Controlling disease certainly promotes the General Welfare, but then the Biden administration perverted the CDC to subjugate people to benefit Big Pharma during COVID. Hence, declaring that some program or agency will benefit the General Welfare does not mean it actually will. It usually means it won’t.

Now ask: Do unearned “entitlements” actually improve the General Welfare?

The General Welfare was used as an excuse for LBJ’s (not so) Great Society Programs, which left a legacy of destroying families (particularly Blacks), and led to exploding crime and incarceration rates. The number of fatherless black children jumped from 20% to 80% in a matter of years because welfare rendered traditional family structure and personal responsibility obsolete for mom’s survival. Drug abuse exploded. Crime exploded. Urban renewal destroyed long-standing neighborhoods and replaced them with massive Government housing failures like the legendary Cabrini Green. Later, education tanked after creating the Department of Education (under Carter).

All these programs were devastating, but were sold as promoting the General Welfare.

The Woke Mob now insists that massive immigration of low-skilled people will benefit everyone, but ignores adverse effects on the employment and well-being of low-skilled Americans crowded out by illegals. Nor are taxpayers supposed to notice additional costs of sending immigrant children to public schools with English as a second language.

Perhaps the Woke Mob can explain how keeping tens of millions of Americans unemployed and on public assistance, while spending hundreds of $Billions to subsidize illegal aliens, is good for the General Welfare.

Americans are faced with a staggering national debt of $37.5 trillion, and more $100 trillion in unfunded Social Security mandates. The interest on the debt is more than we spend on National Defense. Every child is born owing $110,000. Yet the Woke Mob ignores this very real threat to the General Welfare — as if purposely trying to destroy the U.S. using debt as a weapon.

Is this the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” in action?

History teaches us that the best way to promote General Welfare is to end all federally mandated and/or subsidized social programs, and leave it to the “Several States” per the Tenth Amendment. States can’t print money, and printing money seems to be the root of all governmental evil — and $37.5 Trillion debt.

General Welfare has been perverted into an “instrument of legal plunder” by the Government, and needs to be restored to its original constrained meaning intended by the Constitution’s framers (see Madison’s Federalist 41).

Rather than destroying the General Welfare by enslaving working people to subsidize the looters and the moochers – like we do now – we must insist that people be responsible for themselves so they are no longer a burden on others. That alone will maximize the General Welfare.

“Theory and practice are the same in theory. In practice, they are not.”

Federal programs that sounded good in theory rarely are. Beware.
