U.S. loses sight of its priorities

On Sept. 13, convicted murderer Danelo Cavalcante was captured after escaping from a Chester County prison. He murdered his girlfriend in front of her children. He is wanted in his native Brazil for another murder.

Daniel Hernandez Martinez was arrested six times in New York for 14 crimes committed in his first two months in America.

These men are just two examples of illegal migrants causing misery. Immigration advocates say, “Most are merely seeking a better life.” Yes, but the numbers must be controlled. We can’t absorb everyone desiring entry. And,the bad actors must be kept out.

No administration can do this perfectly. The current administration seems to make no serious effort. In fact, it undermines states that do!

The president was also upset with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for placing a long string of buoys in the Rio Grande to supplement razor wire on the shore. These governors are acting because the White House won’t enforce border security.

An estimated 110,000m migrants are in New York City. A well known hotel was provided as shelter and was trashed. Nicole Malliotakis, a New York congresswoman, reports seniors evicted from a living center so migrants could move in. Some sidewalks are now migrant camps.

Mayor Eric Adams calls Abbott a “madman.” He should, but won’t, condemn the president for allowing the decay of the border.

According to Customs & Border Protection, fiscal year 2022 recorded 2.76 million border crossings. That exceeds the combined populations of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Cleveland. There were 230,000 in August alone with 180,000 between legal points of entry.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and director of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas shamelessly insist that the border is not open.

About 2,700 pounds of fentanyl have been stopped at the border this year. But how much got in?

Two milligrams can kill.

Meanwhile Biden’s attack on American energy independence continues.

Obviously, Senate dress rules were dropped — even if temporarily — to accommodate John Fetterman. Beyond that Fetterman, at least twice, verbally attacked House Republicans and his critics using especially vulgar terms.

I voted for Mehmet Oz. I still wish Fetterman full recovery from his stroke and from his glaring lack of dignity.
