In support of community health

Chris Dolan

First and foremost, know that your entire YMCA community is thinking of you, your families, and our community-at-large. We hope you are all staying safe, healthy, and managing as well as you can under the current circumstances. The efforts you have made to prioritize your health and well-being by being a member of the Warren County YMCA do not need to come to a halt despite the hopefully temporary delay in our face-to-face connections.

While we may not be gathering in-person for the time being, we are together in spirit and want to help you continue progressing toward the goals you set for yourself. We hope you will consider taking advantage of one or more of the following ideas:

Remember why you set the goal in the first place. Place a note or visual reminder around your home as motivation and to prevent stagnation or back slides;

Set a routine. As many of you adjust to new routines that may involve more solitude or the addition of loved ones of all ages throughout the day, set a routine personally, relationally, and professionally to help stay mentally strong;

Refer back to knowledge gained. Refer to tools, tips, and tricks you have learned along the way from your own experimentation, application, and knowledge sharing;

Carve out time for mental wellness. Customize this for your needs and desires, whether it’s physical activity, meditation, a belly laugh, safely supporting others in your community, or any other way you choose to recharge and relax;

Prioritize your relationships. Whether it’s through phone, text, virtual meet-ups, or open window singing, know that you are not alone. Check in with those who matter most.

We are here for you and want to hear from you. Log into our Facebook page to get daily workouts that you can do from home. If you need help or have questions about your fitness, please consider setting up time for a phone or email check-in from a member of our health and fitness staff. Email Christine Dolan, Senior Director of Wellness, at chris@warrenymca.org to set up a conversation to help set goals, strategize opportunities for continued wellness, and share with us how you and your family are doing. The YMCA welcome center will be available to answer your phone calls Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. Visit www.warrenymca.org for updates and information.

Know that you are in our hearts and minds, and we look forward to connecting with you virtually in the immediate and in-person in the near future.

In support of community health,

Christine Dolan, YMCA Senior Director of Wellness
