Caring showing
Dear Editor,
We live in a time when I hear often people just do not care!
Last week, I was able to participate in a community event that showed this just is not true.
The Community Thanksgiving dinner held at the Clarendon Veterans building on Thanksgiving Day.
A huge thank-you to Sandra and Frank Blum and their family for organizing this event with all the tremendous work needed to see it through!
I saw for three days people from many walks of life, young to old in age, coming together and giving of themselves to help in whatever way was needed. Prior to that many donated food and supplies needed for the dinner.
I believe we served around 300 that day, between take-out, delivery and sit down meals.
The Veterans facility is an awesome building that is used in so many ways. I heard many stories of things being done and lives being changed because of the work done there.
I encourage everyone to somehow get involved in your community and help where needed. You may be the one who can change a life for the better.
Sheryle McNeal,
Warren
