Name for the ages
Dear Editor,
I used DuckDuckGo to search for the first settler of Warren, in reference to a recent Our Opinion piece regarding the bridge in the Times Observer.
Philip McCoy established the first trading post in the area now known as Warren in 1795.
He played a significant role in the establishment of the early settlement. I haven’t researched it completely yet, but I imagine that his trading post was on the banks of the Conewango or Allegheny or at their convergence. Just sending the name of someone who most definitely might be relevant.
