Soaring concerns
Dear Editor,
We have a significant number of elected representatives in Washington, D.C., who seem to lack intelligence, are either uninformed or perhaps are mentally crippled.
Article I, Section 9 of our Constitution states clearly that ” no person holding any office … shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept any present Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.”
Why did Congress consent to permit convicted felon President Donald J. Trump to accept a multi-million dollar aircraft from a foreign country?
I could belittle Trump, however, his superego is in his favor. He certainly has little regard for our laws which reflects his lust for power and glory despite restraints of the Constitution and the federal courts.
He and a majority of Congress must understand that our Constitution is not just a bunch of meaningless words.
They do have explicit meaning for both the average person, our electorate, and the judicial system.
Further, too many silent, and cowardly representatives lack courage and integrity to uphold this Constitutional matter, which is priceless.
