True colors
Dear Editor,
We just saw what is purported to be a group of leaders from the Democrat party show why the election went to Donald Trump.
During the recent speech to Congress they figuratively sat on their hands, even when there were reasons to show approval to what was said.
A young boy battling cancer was made an honorary Secret Service agent. That brought tears to my eyes, and they sat with stone faces. Females dressed in pink protesting Trump’s policies concerning what they feel are women’s rights, showed their hypocrisy when POTUS stated women’s sports are now protected from men; that statement could have created a positive response, but it only brought more cold stares.
I wonder if it was hard for at least some of them not to clap for something as they sat there. Of course, they probably got marching orders to remain still and show no emotion. That show of indifference just screened their childlike and immature qualities to an audience of millions.
Dana Perino, a Fox News commentator, spoke the most appropriate words in describing many of the Democrats in attendance, “they have no common sense, no ideas, or no heart.”
Trump was inaugurated six weeks ago. It took time to get to this point of concern with the border and economy, and it will take time to get us out of the mess from the previous administration. At least the border is more secure now than it has been in the last four years.
It appears that the Democrat-Socialists in government don’t seem to care about what is best for our citizens, only what is best for this elitist group of which they are a part. Spend money and print more is their playbook; that’s the recipe for inflation. In case they don’t realize it, DOGE will protect what is needed, and take away that which is not needed. Overreach by government has to cease, or we will be bankrupt and lose what we have because of default on our enormous debt.
How sad the congressional Dems can’t show approval for something that is beneficial to our country; half or more of the citizens they represent can do it.

Dealing with MAGA
Dear Editor,
MAGA is the Republican Party, which is tied to Vladimir Putin and openly embraces his brand of authoritarianism. This authoritarian party is trying to take over our democracy and destroy it. All of us, citizens and consumers, must stand in their way and fight back together, regardless of our past voting behavior. If we want a future, we must act now.
Some 77% of us did not vote for Trump. No one voted for Musk.
Dr. Oran Stewart,

Troubling times
Dear Editor,
I just watched as Ukrainian President Zelinsky was ambushed by Donald Trump and JD Vance in the Oval Office. Thankfully he did not cower and take the lies and humiliation; he courageously and proudly defended himself and his country from the attacks by Trump, Putin and Vance. Earlier in the week Trump had to be interrupted and corrected, when telling lies, by French President Macron and British Prime Minister Starmer. Again, I was embarrassed and humiliated for The United States of America. Since his inauguration President Trump has done irreparable damage to our world standing and our national security.
He has attacked Canada and Mexico with words and lies and tariffs. He has threatened Greenland and Panama with military action. He has disparaged NATO and all of Europe and basically thrown them under the bus, all while cozying up to Russian President Putin and heaping praise on him.
These actions are all harmful to all democracies around the world and helpful to all autocracies around the world. President Trump and Elon Musk are also responsible for an increasing number of deaths around the world due to their thoughtless and reckless dismantling of the U.S.A.I.D., not to mention the total chaos in the entire U.S. Government.
Trump does not have your best interests at heart, but only his personal dream of being a dictator or King. As he said last week, “Long live the King”.
Please pay attention!
