Fox News, according to its internal emails, appears to have broken the defamation law. Fox’s attacks on the Dominion Voting Systems Company — “airing information they knew was not true” and “pushing claims they knew were lies” to maintain viewership — “to give their viewers what the viewers wanted to hear” as opposed to presenting facts and opinions based on facts — was criminal, I would say.

Fox News viewers may not be aware of the federal courts’ 61 decisions affirming “no” significant 2020 election fraud (no steal) or maybe they don’t care. It doesn’t fit with what they want to believe or what they have been led to believe.

Fox viewers may not know about the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit, Fox’s internal emails exposing the contrast between Fox’s public comments versus Fox’s private comments about Trump and his boosters, the Congressional hearings on the Jan. 6 insurrection, Trump’s upcoming criminal fraud real estate/bank loan law suit, Trump’s Stormy Daniels hush money violation of federal campaign finance law, etc., etc. because Fox did not air them and when they were referred to, referrals were mainly opinions based on “alternative facts.”

We reside in a conservative area with local news sources reflective of our redness and though I get weary of the Times Observer’s inclusion of two conservative political columnists/cartoonists for each progressive columnist/cartoonist, they are factual based — not “alternative facts. Inclusion of more favorable progressive news/opinion would be appreciated.

Our judicial system will determine the fate of Dominion’s $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch, Fox News and its alleged forked tongue speakers. That’s how our law based, democratic system was designed to work — not by storming the capitol.
