A wrong impression

Dear Editor,

I am writing a letter of apology to a motorist I met on the Fifth Avenue bridge this morning of May 27. I was walking on the highway part of the bridge toward Conewango Avenue picking up litter, including a penny. I had the penny in my left hand when a motorist came toward me.

I waved to the motorist with my left hand and noticed it could have looked like an unkind gesture as only my thumb and index finger were showing. It bothers me a lot that the motorist may have, and probably got the wrong idea. I would never give this gesture to anyone, so please forgive me if you are reading this.

I was just trying to be friendly.

Viewing a ‘quagmire’

Dear Editor,

As a taxpaying citizen I have always felt I had rights. Now I see illegals coming into the country usurping the same rights I have just by crossing a border, illegally to boot. It’s a sad state of affairs when these people begin new lives in a foreign country as law breaking fugitives.

President Joe Biden and company had no right to put this country into the perils we are now facing on all fronts, domestically and foreign. Lies and deceit is all they propose; with their deep pockets and media bias Americans are being fed the garbage they are pushing.

They are consumed with Donald Trump because he was the one that exposed the Swamp wth their corrupt ways of government. Hillary Clinton cried at her loss; that’s strange considering she paid to have him lose the 2016 election by being tied to Russia. Question: Will she ever sit in a jail cell because of her underhanded scheme?

The Jan. 6 Capitol Riot hearing leaves a lot to be desired. It’s obvious this is a tool to detract from the horrendous debacles throughout the country. The panel consists of Nancy Pelosi choices, all Democrats wiht two Republicans who don’t like Trump. The Republicans that would ask the hard questions were denied a place on the panel. This appears to be a sham witch hunt, a farce produced and directed by the Democrat party with a preplanned outcome.

Trump delivered a message on that day in January, which was shared in the hearing, only it was not completed. The sin of omission is as great as the sin of commission. He told everyone to go peacefully, but it was not vocalized. Once again, he was trounced for what he said, even though the complete truth was not made known in the hearing.

Many people verified that Trump called thousands of National Guard troops to readiness, in case Pelosi and the Mayor of D.C. wanted them. They never bothered to use their services. The Guards’ presence might have prevented what turned out to be a riot of monumental proportions. Questions: Why didn’t they take advantage of the availability of the Guardsmen at the Capitol? Did they want the outcome that actually occurred?

Apparently, Pelosi and others are beyond questioning about Jan. 6, and that in itself is disturbing. She once stated that “no one is above the law.” It seems she really said “the laws are good for thee but not for me.”

The Dems think nothing of riots for their purpose, but in violation of federal law they must think it’s fine to harangue a Supreme Court Justice. Biden never denounced the violence occurring with the threat of harm to one of the Justices; he was too busy appearing on TV. He is on track to be the president with the most time away from the White House during his presidency. The country is burning, and like Nero who fiddled away while Rome burned, he is “resting” in Delaware while the country is suffering under his uncaring gaze.

His support is the lowest of any president at this point in office; he is upset because his poll numbers are lower than Trump’s were at the same point in their presidencies. It should be no surprise to him or anyone else with the way things are going in the country.

Trump was consistently bullied and condemned because of his desire to show what the Swamp was doing; even with that, he did more for the country than Joe Biden ever did in half a century in public service.

I’m fairly certain that the “Mr. Moderate Adult” we see now is not what his proponents thought they were getting when he was elected and took office. A good clue of things to come happened on Jan. 20 when POTUS signed Executive Orders that started the downslide to our economy. Seniors now see their savings investments being depleted since the money they planned to use in retirement has been vastly reduced.

Midterms are coming; we can trust and pray that God will help us change the direction of the country back to a semblance of normalcy before we are completely lost in the quagmire that has been created in the last 17 months.

Different path

Dear Editor,

Are you surprised that the local LGBTQ community has morphed into Warren County Pride? Are you surprised that what was promoted as family friendly films transitioned into R-rated movies?

Are you surprised that the Saturday event, which sponsors many activities for small children, still features an hour of Drag Shows? Are you surprised that the rainbow, the sign of God’s promise that He would not flood the earth again, has been appropriated to symbolize something completely different?

Don’t be surprised any longer by what is occurring. Don’t allow others to define your values.
