Worth the effort?

Dear Editor,

I see in the Times Observer (March 22) on the front page that Jim Decker, president of Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry, received congratulations on working to spend $7 million of Build Back Better funds.

I would think that WCCBI should be helping to bring new business into Warren and the county, especially since county unemployment is up 1% in just one month. The chamber should be in talks with whoever owns Blair buildings now about opportunity to have a business in either one or both empty buildings. Only good thing about those buildings are being sold a month or so ago and tax money from real estate transfers. Both are still empty gathering dust. Not heard anything in Times Observer about any plans for them or other place in Warren county, or are talks super secret?

I just want to know what the WCCBI main function is — and how much it costs taxpayers to have something that does nothing to help bring new business into the area?
