Nation loses its way

Dear Editor,

If you think the world is in a real mess then take a closer look at our own country. It is hard to believe how far out of whack things have gotten in such a short time.

For instance, the Woman of the Year is a man; the Women’s College National Swimming Champion is a man. A female nominee for U.S. Supreme Court was ask to give her definition of a woman but she either couldn’t or wouldn’t give an answer. Makes me wonder why?

On Jan. 20, 2021, the new chief executive started signing executive orders. With a stroke of a pen 40,000 un-born babies’ lives were doomed, another stroke of the pen and 14,000 jobs were immediately eliminated with more jobs to soon fallow. Somewhere in the process an order was signed that opened our borders wide bringing an influx of hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens plus a free flowing river of drugs.

In the year from the time the chief executive started signing orders we went from being energy independence to begging our enemies to produce more oil to meet our demands. Inflation has accelerated at an alarming rate to the highest percentage ever in our country. Energy cost (gasoline, diesel fuel, heating, electric) have nearly doubled and are a major factor driving inflation. The world’s supply chain is broken with no signs of a quick fix. Not only are there warning signs of a hard recession but also of food shortages in the very near future.

Are our nation’s unrighteous acts, perverse iniquities and outrageous sins bringing the beginning of God’s judgment upon us? The Apostle Paul wrote these words to Timothy in his 2nd letter, “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

I believe there is still time to right this nation if we do as God’s Word in the Bible instructs us; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

I pray people’s eyes are being opened to the reality of our nation’s current situation.
